Painkiller

A “legal” Painkiller uses Pusser’s rum (Gunpowder preferably), but popular opinion is that Pusser’s only stole the copyright and other rums make for a better cocktail

Components

  • Cream of Coconut

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. pusser’s or other navy strength rum

  • 4 oz. pineapple juice

  • 1 oz. orange juice

  • 1 oz. cream of coconut

Directions

  • pour ingredients in shaker

  • add crushed or nugget ice

  • shake vigorously

  • pour cocktail glass of your choice

  • garnish with nutmeg

  • alternatively you may incorporate nutmeg before shaking

Cream of Coconut

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz. can of Coconut Cream (unsweetened coconut fat)

  • 190g or 3/4 cup by volume of sugar

  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Steps

  • simmer coconut cream on low and whisk

  • add sugar slowly and reduce until even consistency

  • add salt

  • let cool
